PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Krakow is the 2nd biggest city in Poland but The Old Town is quite small and special zones allows private motorist to use only several streets. During your stay here it’s much better to use public transport or taxis rather than your own car.
We use the same tickets on the buses and trams but we have no discounts for foreign students or pensioners. Tickets can be purchased at each tram or bus stop in kiosks with newspapers and cigarettes. You have to punch it immediately upon boarding the vehicle.

•    Single ticket costs 2,50 PLN  each
•    1h ticket costs 3,10 PLN- you need to validate it once and you can use it in trams  or buses thereafter for 1 hour
•    24h ticket costs 10,40 PLN- you need to validate it once and you can use it in trams or buses thereafter for 24h
•    48h ticket costs 18,80 PLN- you need to validate it once and you can use it in trams or buses thereafter for 48h
•    72h ticket costs 25,00 PLN- you need to validate it once and you can use it in trams or buses thereafter for 72h
•    7 days ticket costs 38,00 PLN - you need to validate it once and you can use it in trams or buses thereafter for 7 days
•    There is a special charge for luggage if it is bigger than 60 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm - 2,50 PLN

The Municipality Public Transport (MPK) inspector may ask you to show him your validated ticket. If you have no ticket or it has not been “punched” the inspector can fine you 100,00 PLN and the amount of a ticket. There is a fine for taking luggage without payment as well - 75,00 PLN and the amount of a ticket
